Cindy Gutierrez

Cindy was born into the beauty industry, long before it was even called the beauty industry. Her great great-grandfather opened up the first pharmacy in Santa Barbara: Gutierrez Drug Store. She proudly states, “It served our community for over 100 years.”

Cindy received an AA in liberal studies from SBCC, and has been a certified Massage Therapist for over seventeen years. Seven years ago she added licensed Esthetician to her credits.

Although Cindy enjoys many modalities of massage, she “feels most confident with Trigger Point Therapy.” For those unfamiliar with the term, Trigger Point work is designed to alleviate pain through isolated pressure and release. It also eliminates toxins, while releasing energizing endorphins. And doesn’t everyone want a few extra endorphins in their system?

Cindy likes working at Skin Deep because of the group spirit, and the chance to work with Tina and Nina. “I admire their great determination. They are strong, independent women.”

Outside of giving people wonderful massages, Cindy enjoys running, hiking, and swimming in the ocean every morning. But at the top of her extracurricular list is ‘I love spending time with my children.”
